Some may know him as “Bishop”, others as a cutting-edge leader, a singer, songwriter, musician, and businessman, still others a beloved father, brother, uncle, and faithful Pastor. No matter your point of reference, Bishop C. Everton Thomas is well known throughout Jamaica, and in several countries around the world.
He was born in Kingston, Jamaica as the fifth of nine children to Bishop S.U. and Mother Joyce Thomas. After graduating from Calabar High he pursued Electrical Engineering at C.A.S.T (now UTECH). But God called him at the tender age of seventeen and he began his preparations for ministry by studying at the Caribbean Bible Institute in Kingston Jamaica. He was appointed as the Assistant Pastor for the Emmanuel Apostolic Church, 12 Slipe Road, then pioneered the fast-growing branch in Portmore. Today he pastors both assemblies and also is the Presiding Prelate of the organization with oversight responsibility for 40 churches in Jamaica and the USA.
Thomas served as a board member of PBCJ (Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica) and as the chairman of (LOVE FM, LOVE TV), chairman of the Jamaica Pentecostal Union-Apostolic JPU(A), chairman of the Portmore Ministers’ Fraternal and several other boards. Bishop's assignment from God has not been limited to Jamaica. He has ministered in several countries including the UK, Canada, Venezuela, North America, Africa and the Caribbean.
In 2016, he was invited to the White House to represent Jamaica and the Caribbean. In November 2023, he was invited to Washington to receive the United States President’s Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of the humanitarian work done by the Emmanuel churches in the USA.
Bishop Thomas demonstrates a serious commitment to family. He is married to the love of his life Jillian for forty one (41) years, who is now the Co-Pastor of the Portmore assembly. Together they are the proud parents of two grown children, Brandon and Tiffany, one grandson Sebastian and also included Chantal and Jewel in their loving family.
